Pre-final Presentation

Peer Feedback
Max Glanville
Good idea, the work is there, should maybe look at designing it with a wrist band that is easier for them to use, like a velcro wristband that is easy to put on and take off.

Alex Jackson
Should really figure out what to do with those buttons on the side, are they really needed? if they serve no purpose then why have them? besides that alot of work has been done from you're previous idea.

Lecturer feedback
Mar appeared to like the GENERAL idea, the functionality was there but i had to work on the aesthetics. Mar recommended i remove the buttons and the audio jack as they will just confuse the user, also i should work on  a way to make it so its something they would want to wear, what would the patient be willing to wear 20 years ago that they would still wear now?

My feedback
After receiving this feedback it has been rather clear what needs to be worked on, the aesthetics, the look of this watch has to both serve its function but also be something the person would want to wear, i need to make it in such a way that they will walk out of the house and choose to wear the watch not because of its GPS function, but for its fashion and look it gives off

project 2: sustainable product service system

Feedback

Lecturer: Mar
Mar saw my water idea and instantly thought it was a waste as there are already so many current easier solutions out there. my tourism travel mate he believes a product is already out there just like it. That being said both Mar and myself seemed pretty interested with the idea of catering for people with Dementia. Mar noticed the observation of Primary and secondary care is interesting and how i am not only thinking of people with dementia, but i am also thinking of the carers of people with dementia. I received some pointers as to me researching further ways of improving how this device works and who it should  contact.

Students
Christina Le:
christina found my dementia idea interesting and noted to me how it is important to design something that they WANT to wear instead of something that is just watching them like a "big brother" point of view. along with that she explained how it has to be easy to use, these devices need to work perfectly but also easy to use, 1 press button may be interesting.

response:
I found this week very helpful to me. two of my ideas got knocked back but now 1 got the go ahead, i now have a sense of direction and i need to further research what do people with dementia need  for this product to work for them. I need to start experimenting with shapes and designs and see which one will be easiest for people. I feel i can really get involved in this project as i have a family member with dementia and that just encourages me harder as to how much i need to work on this design.
